About Ceri
Firstly, thanks for checking out my site and finding out a bit more about me. I would love for us to collaborate together if my work is appropriate for your project. I am based in North Wales and have just started (2024) doing work for clients although I have been working on illustrative projects for about 5 years. This means I have a good grasp of my working process and have established styles to work in. I really enjoy variety in my work so I use a many different media. I have been experimenting with mixed media for about 12 years and have learnt a lot about what does/doesn’t work. I have 3 ‘styles’ I can work in on client projects, all of which I enjoy greatly.
Below I have created a timeline to show what to expect from an illustration commission with me. I hope this is helpful but if you have any further thoughts or questions please contact me.

Timeline of a Typical Commission
Make initial enquiry
I will read your project overview and check my diary and if it looks like a match will offer a meeting to discuss further. Or explain why we are not matched to work together.
Initial Meeting
In this meeting I will get to find out about your project and ask you questions so I have a great idea about what you want. We can also nail down expectations like timeframe, budget and scope.
I get to work
At this point I will do some research and start thumbnailing ideas. I may send you moodboards or ideas by email to see if they feel good to you. Once we have a clear direction I will prepare rough linework for 1 to 3 ideas.
You sign off on an idea
This is an important step as we’ll agree the major direction of the project now and any changes to this in the future will need a new project quote. Small changes can still be made especially if I’m working digitally on this illustration. Basically they will have to be within the realms of what is possible without completely restarting the illustration
Final artwork
I will render the piece and export it in the requested formats. There can be up to 3 rounds of changes at this stage as long as they are possible to complete without restarting the piece.
Sign Off
I will send you the files in the formats agreed upon and with the agreed licence.
During the course of the projects we can be in touch via email or a mutually agreeable channel (e.g. skype, zoom, whatsapp). My aim is that at this step, you will be getting the outcome you were looking for.
A Bit More About Me
Being a bit older I have a lot of life experience to ‘draw’ on. I include living in Africa for 7 years as a teenager, working with horses and teaching children and adults in various capacities. I have good communication skills and, having been a single parent, an excellent and responsible approach to my commitments.
I have completed a degree in Computing with a 2:1 result and have a P.G.C.E. I have also studied a number of modules towards an illustration degree and have a firm belief in professional development so I study with various online providers such as Domestika and Creature Art Teacher (Aaron Blaise of Disney fame – an excellent teacher.)
